Australia’s tour to England confirmed

Yes, Australia is scheduled to play a limited over series against England in the month of September. Definitely, this will be Australia’s first international tour after the Covid -19 pandemic. To specify, this tour will be conducted at bio -secure venues i.e. no audience at the venue. Earlier, this tour was scheduled to be played in the month of July, but was postponed due to the pandemic. All the formalities have been completed, including the government dispensation required for leaving the country. Moreover, the Australian players will self quarantine for 14 days after their return from the tour.

Australia vs England News

The Australian team will depart from Perth on 23 August. Before the series starts, the teams will be playing three T20 practice matches and one ODI practice match. Specifically, these matches will be played in Southampton and Old Trafford, wherein the hotels for stay are on site.
To elaborate about the tour, six limited overs matches will be played. Three matches amongst them are T20Is and rest three matches are ODIs. Further, the actual series will begin from 4 September and will conclude on 16 September. Below we bring you the exact schedule of the six matches:

Australia’s squad against England

Aaron Finch (captain), David Warner, Steven Smith, Sean Abbott, Ashton Agar, Alex Carey, Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood, Marnus Labuschagne, Mitchell Marsh, Glenn Maxwell, Riley Meredith, Josh Philippe, Daniel Sams, Kane Richardson, Mitchell Starc, Marcus Stoinis, Andrew Tye, Matthew Wade, Adam Zampa, Nathan Lyon.


Mainly, Josh Phillippe, Daniel Sams and Riley meredith will be the three potential debutants in the team. On the other hand, Head, Khawaja, Ben McDermott or D’Arcy Short and Michael Neser are not in the list, who were all named in a preliminary 26-man squad last month.


To sum up, coach Justin Langer is happy with the way the players have returned to their states. It was a long break for the players since then month of March. Langer also said that the whole squad has come back fitter and stronger, which is great testament to each of them.
