Dream 11 is a fantasy sports platform (based in India) founded in the year 2008. It was founded by two equally important people for the company, namely Harsh Jain and Bhavit Sheth. Currently, the headquarters of dream 11 are situated at the financial capital of India i.e. Mumbai.

Firstly, in the year 2017, Dream 11 became the Official Fantasy Partner of
- Hero Caribbean Premier league (CPL)
- Hero Indian Super league (ISL)
- National Basketball Association (NBA)
Later in 2017 itself, NBA launched their official fantasy game in association with Dream 11.
Similarly, Dream 11 increased its network in 2018 and announced partnership with
- International Cricket Council (ICC)
- Pro Kabaddi league (PKL)
- Big Bash league (BBL)
- Women’s Big Bash league (WBBL)
Finally, in 2019, BCCI announced Dream 11 as the official partner for Vivo Indian Premier League (IPL).

Here, users have to create a virtual team of real life players for a particular match within a credit limit of 100 points. Now, the points awarded to the players will be based on their performance in real match. Obviously, the user who scores highest points in a contest will win that contest.
There are many types of contests available for joining. Dream 11 also provides cash bonus by various means which can be utilized while joining the contests. Mainly, the contests are classified into two categories:
- Free contests- No entry fees but no winning amount also.
- Paid contests- Specific entry fees applicable. However, the winning amount depends on various factors like the number of opponents, entry fees, clashes, etc..
There are leagues where a person can win in lakhs and crores, on the contrary there are leagues where one wins less than 30rs also.
Legality
Earlier, in 2017, there was a case registered against dream 11 in an Indian High Court. There wasn’t any severe consequence of this case. But, according to the law, playing fantasy sports is not allowed in some states of India. Hence, Dream 11 is banned in Assam, Odisha and Telangana. Immediately, the company filed a challenge to this judgement in the Supreme Court of India but was dismissed by the court.
